DFL State Auditor Candidate, Otto, Two Faced
Rebecca Otto is the DFL endorsed candidate for State Auditor. You may not be aware that she is a supporter of the anti-gay efforts of former State Senator Michele Bachmann and her counterparts in the Minnesota House. As a Representative in the Minnesota House, Otto has been a supporter of the anti-gay marriage amendment although she now wants gay people to support HER. And, she is apparently willing to say anything to get that support.
This quote from David Strand of Minnesota Lavender Greens regarding candidate surveys filled out by Otto: "In the State Auditor race, both Green Dave Berger and DFL'er Rebecca Otto answered the survey. However,Rebecca's answers have been thrown into question because she appears to be trying to play both sides of the fence since she also answered a survey from theMinnesota Family Insitute where she affirmed support for a constitutional amendment to ban same sex marriage at the same time she's telling Outfront MNAction that she opposes it. Regardless of your position on the issue at hand, this raises questions of personal integrity and honesty on the part of Otto. How can she be trusted to audit fairly when she so readily engages in such chicanery to get elected?"
Indeed. Dave Berger, the Green Party candidate for State Auditor is in full support of equal marriage rights for same sex couples.

I checked with Rebecca Otto personally and learned that THIS IS NOT TRUE. This is propaganda perpetrated by dishonest green candidates intent only on getting to 5% even if they return right-winger Pat Anderson (who appeared on the anti-gay marriage CD) to office. Rebecca Otto HAS NEVER ANSWERED A SURVEY FOR THE FAMILY INSTITUTE. They are strictly trying to pull votes from the Democrat - don't fall for this cynical ploy - Rebecca Otto has publically stated before and after her last election that this should not be on the ballot. The ONLY person talking about gay marriage of these four candidates is Dave Berger! let's can the divisive issues that have nothing to do with the office!
