Back From Vacation

Another trip to freedom and equality in Canada for us and then the dread that accompanies the return trip across the border where our "rights" are the subject of executive and popular whim. It's always an interesting transition...both ways. There's the joyful anticipation as we approach the border to Canada and the celebration of spirit as we cross into the land where our family is legal and as gay people we are fully equal in the eyes of the law. It really is like having a tremendous burden lifted. Then when we come back across the border, all the same concerns return. What happens to us if if if... What ill-informed, hateful electorate or official will be the next to decide our fate.
